Metaview and Tenzo both land on recruiting teams’ shortlists the moment someone brings up “AI in our hiring process.” Both promise to take busywork off recruiters’ plates. They are not solving problems of the same size, though. Metaview is an AI notetaker for calls your team is already having. It doesn’t run those calls for you. Tenzo does both jobs. Its AI recruiter conducts the interview itself, and its Recruiter Note Taker captures and coaches the calls your humans still own. So if you’re evaluating Metaview, don’t stop at “how good are the notes.” Ask how much of your top-of-funnel screening you’re still staffing yourself.

📝 Interview Notes: The One Place They Overlap

Metaview’s flagship product, AI Interview Notes, joins a recruiter’s calls, transcribes them, and turns the conversation into structured notes, organized by question and answer, by topic, or by conversation type, with adjustable detail levels and a short candidate summary for hiring managers who don’t have time to read a transcript. Teams can also build custom note templates and pull broader reports on things like salary expectations and interviewer performance across the funnel.

Tenzo’s Recruiter Note Taker produces the same real-time, structured notes from live recruiter and hiring-manager conversations, synced straight to the ATS. That surface-level overlap is where the similarity ends, though, because note-taking and coaching are different products doing different jobs. Note-taking is passive: it documents what was said, during or after the call, for the record. That’s Metaview’s whole product. Coaching is active and live: it shapes how the interview goes while it’s still happening, prompting sharper follow-up questions in real time, flagging potential bias as it surfaces in the conversation, and keeping the interview anchored to a structured, consistent question format instead of letting it drift off-script. Metaview tells you what happened on a call after the fact. Tenzo’s Recruiter Note Taker is shaping how the call goes while it’s still happening. That’s a different product category, not a feature bolted onto a notetaker.

Scope is where the two diverge further. Metaview’s notetaker is the product. Tenzo’s Note Taker is one module inside a platform that also runs the interviews themselves. A note-taker, however good, only ever documents work your recruiters are still doing by hand.

🤖 Who’s In the Room With the Candidate?

Metaview has expanded past pure note-taking. It now offers AI-assisted candidate sourcing, outreach, and application review, plus “Fillmore,” a newer autonomous agent that finds candidates, reaches out to them, and schedules screening calls. But the core interview product still centers on capturing conversations that a human recruiter conducts. It is not an AI interviewer that talks to candidates itself.

Tenzo starts from the opposite direction. Morgan, Tenzo’s AI recruiter, conducts voice AI interviews directly with candidates, available 24/7 by phone, WhatsApp, video, or email, in 40+ languages. A candidate can finish a screening interview at 11 p.m. on a Saturday without a recruiter ever picking up the phone. That’s a different way of scaling top-of-funnel screening than “human conducts it, software transcribes it” can offer.

High-volume teams feel this gap the most: growing companies, large enterprises, staffing firms, and RPOs fielding 100+ candidates per req. Metaview makes the calls your recruiters already run more useful. Tenzo removes the need for a recruiter to be on that first call at all.

🛡️ Catching Fakes Before They Get a Callback

Recruiting fraud is a fast-growing problem in remote hiring: proxy interviewing, deepfaked video, stolen identities. This is one place the two products aren’t in the same conversation. Tenzo builds fraud detection and identity verification directly into its interview flow, using 40+ signals to flag proxy interviewing, deepfakes, and stolen identities as part of the candidate’s screening interview. Metaview doesn’t offer this. Its job is documenting a conversation, not vetting who’s on the other end of it.

Both companies take data security seriously in their own lane. Metaview has announced SOC 2 Type II certification for handling interview audio and recruiting data. Tenzo is SOC 2 Type II and GDPR certified as well, with a de-biasing layer that strips protected-class information from transcripts and a compliance model built around contestability: candidates are evaluated on what they directly tell Tenzo, not scraped web data, and can understand and challenge how they were assessed. For a notetaker, security certification is mostly about protecting recorded conversations. For an AI recruiter that’s making or informing hiring decisions, it has to cover how those decisions get made and defended too.

📅 Fitting Into the Stack You Already Have

Metaview lists a broad set of integrations: over 100 ATS platforms including Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, iCIMS, Jobvite, SmartRecruiters, and Cornerstone, plus video tools (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex), calendar tools (Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly, Cronofy, GoodTime), and SSO providers. Metaview plugs into whatever stack a recruiting team already runs.

Tenzo takes the same “sit on top of your ATS” approach, with 57+ verified integrations spanning Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, iCIMS, SAP SuccessFactors, Bullhorn, Avionté, Ashby, and others. The difference shows up in what the integration gets used for. It automates the back-and-forth of interview scheduling between candidates and hiring teams itself. Its candidate rediscovery feature mines a company’s existing ATS database to resurface previously screened candidates for new roles. Metaview’s newer Fillmore agent does take a step toward autonomous screening-call scheduling, but it’s a recent addition rather than the established, funnel-wide coordination Tenzo has built around candidate-and-hiring-team scheduling.

Where This Leaves You

Metaview’s note-taking and reporting layer is mature, well-integrated, and clearly where the product’s attention has gone. The templates, TLDR summaries, and interviewer-performance reporting are useful if all you want is a smarter way to capture and share notes on calls you’re already running. Nothing wrong with that. It’s a solid tool for a narrower job than the one most recruiting teams have.

Better notes and fewer recruiter hours spent on early-stage screening are not the same goal, though, and the second one is where Tenzo pulls ahead. Morgan runs the actual screening interview around the clock, in 40+ languages, so none of that work ever touches a recruiter’s calendar. The fraud detection catches proxy interviewers, deepfakes, and stolen identities before a human is even in the loop, an area where Metaview has no answer at all. Scheduling is a built-in workflow that coordinates candidates and hiring teams automatically rather than a feature bolted on after the fact, and rediscovery turns your existing ATS history into a live pipeline instead of a folder of old resumes nobody revisits.

If your team already runs Metaview and likes what the note-taking gives you, take that as a sign you’re ready for the next step: an AI recruiter that handles the screening conversation itself instead of writing it up after the fact. Book a demo to see how Morgan and the Recruiter Note Taker work together across your full hiring funnel.
